GetYourGuide is hiring an Engineering Manager for its Infrastructure Platform team, which builds, automates and enhances the cloud and container-based platform underpinning every product team. The team acts as 'engineers for the engineers', designing abstractions, paved paths and self-service tooling on a stack of AWS, Kubernetes and Istio. The role combines people leadership with technical and roadmap ownership.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Own all hiring and performance management on the engineering side, helping engineers reach their full potential
  • ▹Partner with peers and stakeholders to shape the roadmap and portfolio allocation
  • ▹Build and maintain opinionated paved paths and abstraction layers for mission teams
  • ▹Champion platform engineering principles and operational excellence across the engineering organization
  • ▹Drive high-impact delivery

Requirements

  • ▹Strong technical experience in a cloud-native platform engineering environment
  • ▹Strong sense of ownership, aligning technical and project plans with stakeholders and team
  • ▹Ability to approach complex topics with an open mind and eye for simplicity
  • ▹Passion for people, supporting and coaching engineers without micromanaging

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience in a scale-up or high-growth environment, taking projects from zero to one
  • ▹Experience building platforms for 500+ engineer organizations
  • ▹Experience as a technical product manager/owner for internal platform products
