Senior Network Engineer for Quest Consulting

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop and manage complex data centre networks and access networks with a focus on high availability and redundancy
• ▹Join the team developing the next-generation cloud platform, focusing on network design, segmentation and scalability
• ▹Configure, operate and optimise Cisco-based infrastructure (routing, switching, NX-OS, VXLAN/EVPN)
• ▹Manage and specify network security requirements with Palo Alto and Fortigate firewalls and GetVPN encryption
• ▹Advisory and supporting work around central logging platforms (Splunk Enterprise, Cribl Stream) and telemetry and observability services
• ▹Work together with adjacent infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, load balancers and virtualisation platforms (e.g. VMware VCF)

Requirements

• ▹At least 8 years of current and relevant work experience in complex data centre environments with high demands for redundancy, availability and operational reliability; the experience must cover Cisco-based network infrastructure (routing and switching) and adjacent components such as DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers and virtualisation platforms (e.g. VCF)
• ▹At least 8 years of experience with GetVPN
• ▹At least 8 years of work experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• ▹At least 5 years of work experience with Fortigate firewalls
• ▹At least 3 years of current and relevant work experience with Cisco NX-OS and Cisco VXLAN/EVPN
• ▹Willingness to undergo a security clearance and SUAK (the process takes about 8–12 weeks)
• ▹On-call duty, overtime and evening/weekend work may occur; work in the production environment requires on-site presence

Nice to have

• ▹Work experience with F5
• ▹Experience in network design of cloud platforms, focusing on scalability, segmentation, redundancy and high availability
• ▹Experience working at an authority with more than 10,000 employees
