Experienced Power BI Developer

Software Engineer • On-site • Full-time • Sweden Mariestad, Sweden

The IT department of the County Administrative Board is building a new data platform and is looking for a Power BI developer to take responsibility for the Power BI platform within application support. The work covers reporting, data modelling and operating the Power BI environment.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards
  • ▹Support development teams and the business on BI matters
  • ▹Contribute to technology choices and architecture decisions in deliveries
  • ▹Lifecycle management (deployments, release flows, version control)
  • ▹Collaborate with other developers in IT and business customers in agile teams
  • ▹Work close to the business and contribute to continuous improvement of BI solutions
  • ▹Run, monitor and optimise the Power BI environment
  • ▹Administer Power BI Report Server and/or Power BI Service
  • ▹Ensure requirements for performance, security and availability are met

Requirements

  • ▹Several years of experience in Power BI development (reporting, data modelling, DAX)
  • ▹Good knowledge of SQL
  • ▹Experience of working close to the business and translating requirements into solutions
  • ▹Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, spoken and written

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with MS SQL Server
  • ▹Experience with Power BI Service on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform
  • ▹Experience of operating, administering and optimising Power BI environments: DevOps for BI (CI/CD, pipelines, automation), security and access control, performance tuning of reports and data models, Power BI governance model (e.g. tenant settings, workspace structure)
  • ▹Knowledge of data platforms, data warehouse / lakehouse architecture
  • ▹Experience of scripting and automation (PowerShell, REST API)
  • ▹Experience with Python, PySpark or similar

The IT department of the County Administrative Boards serves the IT needs of Sweden's 21 county administrative boards: it develops and manages business-specific applications, everyday IT for employees and e-services for residents and companies. It also has a central role in the boards' responsibility for civil defence. Its mission is to manage and develop the boards' roughly 400 applications.
