A foundational engineering position at an early-stage industrial robotics startup: you own the core robotics software stack for an intelligent robotic work cell that automates surface finishing, welding and coating. You have significant influence over architecture from day one.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • ▹Own and evolve the full robotics software stack for the work cell, from low-level control to high-level planning
  • ▹Develop and optimize motion planning, trajectory generation and closed-loop control for industrial robot arms
  • ▹Integrate perception hardware, including cameras, force/torque sensors and LiDAR, into real-time control loops
  • ▹Implement industrial safety concepts and fail-safe behaviors
  • ▹Lead on-site testing, calibration and commissioning of robotic systems in real industrial environments
  • ▹Drive architecture decisions and engineering best practices across the team

Requirements

  • ▹5+ years of hands-on robotics engineering experience with real robot hardware, not simulation only
  • ▹Strong grounding in kinematics, dynamics, motion planning and control theory
  • ▹Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for robotics applications, ideally including ROS 2
  • ▹Experience with industrial or collaborative robot arms and associated end-of-arm tooling
  • ▹Proven integration of vision and force/torque sensors into real-time robot control loops
  • ▹Experience deploying robotic systems in real production or industrial environments
  • ▹3D CAD skills, with familiarity in SolidWorks and/or CATIA
  • ▹Fluency in English
  • ▹Eligibility to work in Germany and ability to commit to full-time on-site work in Munich

Nice to have

  • ▹Background in surface finishing, welding or coating automation
  • ▹Machine vision or 3D perception
  • ▹Familiarity with industrial protocols such as EtherCAT or OPC-UA
