Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build, ship and own end-to-end product features used by developers and end users
• ▹Work across frontend, backend and data boundaries, making thoughtful tradeoffs
• ▹Take ownership from problem definition through production rollout and long-term maintenance, including scoping and prioritization
• ▹First month: complete a First Ship project, fix bugs and weigh in on PRs
• ▹First three months: successfully ship a medium-sized project
• ▹Take part in code reviews, bug bashes and technical discussions
• ▹Debug issues across frontend, backend and data and communicate clearly during incidents
• ▹Engage directly with customers and mentor engineers joining the team

Requirements

• ▹8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend foundation and a track record of building and operating high-scale production systems
• ▹Advanced SQL beyond basic SELECT and UPDATE statements
• ▹Proficiency in React and genuine frontend experience, comfortable owning UI work
• ▹Solid HTML, CSS and JavaScript fundamentals and an understanding of HTTP and browser-server interactions
• ▹High bar for quality and the judgment to cut scope when needed
• ▹Customer obsession and product sense: a builder, not an implementer
• ▹Ability to quickly understand and improve code you did not write
• ▹Comfortable coding alongside AI tools like Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code and catching their mistakes
• ▹Bias toward shipping
• ▹Clear written and verbal communication, in real time and asynchronously
• ▹Shipped user-facing features to production, monitored their adoption and improved them
• ▹High-quality, well-tested code, methodical debugging, constructive feedback and mentorship
