Astera is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to own the digital infrastructure powering research (compute resources, container registries, dashboards), ensuring reliability and accessibility.
Responsibilities
- ▹Ensure efficient researcher access to compute resources
- ▹Provide visibility into resource utilization and cluster health
- ▹Enable automatic scaling of compute resources based on demand
- ▹Manage access so the right people have the right permissions
- ▹Drive toward deterministic, reproducible deployments
- ▹Automate operational processes
Requirements
- ▹Ownership of cluster health and capacity
- ▹Systems intuition across schedulers, containers, networking, storage, hardware
- ▹Operational rigor: observability, reproducibility, clear operational boundaries
- ▹Pragmatism supporting experimental research workloads
Nice to have
- ▹Experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Python, Grafana, Prometheus
Soft skills
Ownership and accountabilityPragmatism and flexibility in a research environment
