Builds agentic workflows on GitLab's Plan team that turn a stated intent into a refined work item, an implementation plan, and verified, mergeable code. Works with Ruby on Rails, Python, PostgreSQL, and LLM APIs to build early-stage backend features.
Responsibilities
- ▹Lead backend features from concept to release
- ▹Build flows, APIs, and data models for agent-generated work items
- ▹Develop evaluation and benchmarking systems for quality and cost
- ▹Use Ruby on Rails and Python to build reliable production systems
- ▹Collaborate with product, design, and users to shape scope
- ▹Mentor other engineers and shape technical direction
Requirements
- ▹Experience with Ruby on Rails and Python
- ▹Knowledge of PostgreSQL and GraphQL
- ▹Experience with LLM APIs and AI gateways
- ▹Experience designing agentic workflows
Soft skills
