Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer

Proton seeks an Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to design, implement, and secure its core internal identity infrastructure. Built on self-hosted, open-source technologies like Keycloak and midPoint alongside enterprise solutions like Duo, the role balances strict zero-trust security with team velocity, owning the full identity lifecycle and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, integrate, and maintain Proton's core IAM solutions with high availability and scalability
  • Manage systems and applications built on self-hosted, open-source environments
  • Develop secure automated processes for user provisioning, de-provisioning, and account lifecycle management
  • Design and manage identity governance processes for access rights and compliance alignment
  • Conduct regular audits, assessments, and access re-certification campaigns
  • Configure and manage access control, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code for infrastructure automation and configuration management

Requirements

  • Experience with IAM technologies, ideally Keycloak, midPoint, and Duo
  • Experience with self-hosted, open-source environments
  • Strong scripting and automation skills
  • Knowledge of zero-trust security and identity governance
  • Experience with authentication and access control mechanisms
