(Canada) Principal ML System Engineer

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Define the technical strategy and roadmap for the ML platform
• ▹Define reference architectures and standards for scalable data/ML pipelines
• ▹Set direction for MLOps practices (CI/CD for models, model registry, feature stores)
• ▹Establish the architecture for ML system reliability and observability
• ▹Define the ML platform's security architecture (RBAC, audit logging)
• ▹Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams

Requirements

• ▹Expert-level Python and Java with strong software engineering fundamentals
• ▹Deep experience building large-scale ML platforms and MLOps workflows
• ▹Familiarity with MLFlow, Kubeflow, Ray or equivalent tools
• ▹Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and/or GCP), Docker/Kubernetes
• ▹Proven track record setting org-wide technical direction

Nice to have

• ▹Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning and Databricks
• ▹Experience optimizing large language models (LLMs)
• ▹Experience implementing security practices at scale (MFA, network security)
