Responsibilities

• ▹Design and develop backend software and APIs
• ▹Solve interesting, large-scale backend technical challenges
• ▹Look for opportunities to innovate and optimize
• ▹Understand customer needs and deliver solutions in collaboration with the Product Owner and stakeholders
• ▹Support the customer operationally when escalated by Client Services

Requirements

• ▹Object-oriented programming, e.g. with Ruby
• ▹Software development experience in a Linux/Unix environment
• ▹Experience with a containerization platform such as Docker or Kubernetes
• ▹Agile development practices (automated tests, refactoring, continuous integration, pair programming)
• ▹Effective communication
• ▹Self-motivation and self-management
• ▹4+ years of software development experience
• ▹2+ years supporting a large-scale application in an operational capacity

Nice to have

• ▹A hacker mindset and interest in the security details of built software
• ▹Experience with Rancher, Docker Swarm or other container orchestration platforms
• ▹Understanding of database design and performance tuning (MySQL, Redis)
• ▹DevOps experience on a Linux-based platform
• ▹System administration experience on a Linux-based platform
• ▹BSc majoring in Computer Science
