Responsibilities

• ▹Co-own technical architecture with the Principal Data Engineer: data pipelines, AI flows, agent systems, service integration patterns
• ▹Lead design of data and AI flows across heterogeneous systems: ingestion, transformation, storage, retrieval, consumption by agents and services
• ▹Make and document architectural decisions independently, with clear reasoning and trade-off analysis
• ▹Design and build MCP tools, RAG pipelines, and agent-facing APIs
• ▹Develop backend services with FastAPI as part of an event-driven architecture
• ▹Set and uphold engineering standards: code quality, design patterns, review culture, documentation
• ▹Mentor engineers on system design, data modelling, and AI integration patterns
• ▹Use AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) deliberately and help shape team usage
• ▹Own the evolution of the Data & AI domain architecture, addressing technical debt
• ▹Lead technical execution of initiatives from discovery to production, staying accountable post-release
