Software Engineer, Elixir

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build and maintain APIs, services and systems across Telnyx's engineering teams
• ▹Debug production issues across gateway, auth, network and application layers
• ▹Work with engineers company-wide to build new large-scale features
• ▹Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes, observability and reliability

Requirements

• ▹3+ years of professional software development experience with an object-oriented or functional language (Elixir preferred)
• ▹Appreciation of functional programming and desire to become an expert Elixir programmer
• ▹Experience with relational databases at scale
• ▹Understanding of concurrent and distributed programming challenges
• ▹Deep knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and anti-patterns
• ▹Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Prometheus, Grafana and/or RabbitMQ

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building or operating customer-facing APIs, gateways, auth systems, or internal platforms
• ▹Experience with Envoy
