Backend Engineer - NorthAm Risk

Responsibilities

• ▹Real-time decision making: leverage machine learning to run instant risk assessments every time a customer uses the quote calculator
• ▹Own the risk infrastructure for Instant ACH, enabling instant transfers in the US market
• ▹Collaborate daily with Software Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists to design new rules, refine ML models, and support fraud investigation teams
• ▹Expand the risk scope to cover comprehensive risk types across the US and Canada, including Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
• ▹Design technical solutions that optimize for both throughput and speed, keeping p99 end-to-end latency under 1 second

Requirements

• ▹4+ years of experience with Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based languages
• ▹Deep knowledge of the Spring framework
• ▹Ability to design technical solutions that optimize for both throughput and speed, even at billions of transactions scale
