Platform Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Rolling out software updates, patches and bugfixes in customer environments (cloud, on-premise, OT)
• ▹Operating and maintaining customer systems, ensuring stable and secure daily operations
• ▹Contributing to 24/7 operations through on-call rotations, ensuring fast incident response
• ▹Supporting customers during rollouts, upgrades and operational incidents, including outside regular business hours when needed
• ▹Working directly with customers to understand their Kubernetes-based (mostly single-tenant) cloud environments as well as on-premise and OT landscapes, and defining suitable operating models
• ▹Analyzing operational issues and coordinating troubleshooting with development, SRE and security teams
• ▹Documenting customer-specific setups, operational processes and deployment procedures
• ▹Improving and standardizing deployment and operations processes across customers
• ▹Feeding real-world customer operations feedback into product and engineering decisions

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience operating complex cloud applications, knows how to run services reliably under real-world conditions
• ▹Runs production services on cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), knows common failure modes
• ▹Practical Linux and networking basics for troubleshooting (logs, system state, connectivity)
• ▹Familiar with modern operating models such as containers/Kubernetes (or similar), able to assess deployments in operation (rollouts, rollbacks)
• ▹Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform)
• ▹Good knowledge of basic security concepts
• ▹Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (e.g. Datadog, Grafana or similar)
• ▹Willing and able to contribute to 24/7 operations through a shared team on-call rotation
• ▹Structured, reliable, takes ownership of operational tasks
• ▹Works well with software developers, can translate operational needs into technical requirements
• ▹Fluent German and English, written and spoken
