Backend Engineer

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Help design and build resilient backend services and APIs
• ▹Partner with senior engineers in designing systems and architectures for reliability and scale
• ▹Develop data pipelines from ingestion to enrichment to delivery
• ▹Build reliability and test coverage into the code itself – no separate QA layer
• ▹Improve performance, scalability, and observability across the stack
• ▹Work closely with data/ML to productize AI-powered agents end to end
• ▹Participate in design reviews, pairing, and shared engineering best practices
• ▹Use next-gen AI tools to improve code quality and velocity

Requirements

• ▹3+ years building and operating production backend systems
• ▹Experience with Scala, Python, or functional / JVM languages
• ▹Familiarity with distributed systems, data modeling, and high-volume data flows

Nice to have

• ▹Enjoys a mix of greenfield work and scaling existing systems
• ▹Thrives without heavy process, QA buffers, or endless safeguards
