Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and build resilient backend services and APIs
• ▹Own critical data pipelines from ingestion to enrichment to delivery
• ▹Prepare systems for 100x data growth over the next three years
• ▹Build reliability and test coverage into the code itself – no separate QA layer
• ▹Improve performance, scalability, and observability across the stack
• ▹Work closely with data/ML to productize AI-powered agents end to end
• ▹Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, pairing, and mentorship
• ▹Use next-gen AI tools to improve code quality and velocity

Requirements

• ▹5+ years building and operating production backend systems
• ▹Strong experience with Scala, Python or functional / JVM languages
• ▹Comfortable with distributed systems, data modeling, and high-volume pipelines

Nice to have

• ▹Enjoys greenfield work: from first-principles design to deploy and monitoring
• ▹Thrives without heavy process, QA buffers, or endless safeguards
