Responsibilities

• ▹Build elegant, idiomatic, and resilient SDKs powering Braintrust's LLM evaluation and observability platform
• ▹Ensure libraries are easy to use, efficient, and pleasant to work with, prioritizing developer experience and performance
• ▹Integrate with major AI providers and frameworks such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini
• ▹Build tools and automation to improve testing, profiling, and release workflows
• ▹Collaborate with backend, platform, and product teams for a cohesive developer experience
• ▹Act as a community ambassador: engage with users, understand their issues, and help get fixes merged

Requirements

• ▹Customer-obsessed, passionate about solving real-world problems for developers
• ▹Deep expertise in Python and building fast, idiomatic, reliable libraries in that ecosystem
• ▹Proficient with tooling needed to build robust SDKs: testing frameworks, profilers, CI/CD pipelines, packaging systems
• ▹Deeply cares about developer experience — clean APIs, clear docs, thoughtful error handling, backward compatibility
• ▹Knows how to wrap, patch, or extend existing frameworks and SDKs to inject observability without breaking workflows
• ▹Experience maintaining or contributing to production-grade open-source libraries used across multiple environments

• ▹Contributed to popular open source projects
• ▹Led SDK adoption at your organization
• ▹Familiar with tracing/observability tools like OpenTelemetry
• ▹Worked on tools in the LLM/AI ecosystem
