Engineering Manager, Core Platform

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead and grow high-performing platform engineering teams delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure and operational excellence
• ▹Set technical direction and drive multi-quarter platform initiatives spanning infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and developer experience
• ▹Partner closely with product engineering, security, and engineering leadership to identify organizational needs
• ▹Design and evolve internal platforms, paved roads, and abstractions that let product teams ship independently, securely, and efficiently
• ▹Guide the evolution of Vanta's cloud and data infrastructure, including AWS (ECS, Fargate), MongoDB performance optimization, and event-driven architecture
• ▹Establish strong engineering culture, operational standards, and ownership practices

Requirements

• ▹5+ years managing platform or infrastructure teams at high-growth tech companies
• ▹Experience managing multiple teams or multiple charters
• ▹Strong decision-making skills balancing ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality
• ▹Track record of maintaining and scaling shared infrastructure in measurable ways
• ▹Experience developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc.)
• ▹Experience managing complex, long-term projects spanning multiple teams and stakeholders
• ▹Effective communicator able to influence cross-functional stakeholders without relying on direct authority
• ▹Open to using AI responsibly to amplify their own work and impact
