Network Engineer II

Responsibilities

• ▹Provide operational support for enterprise and data-centre network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless)
• ▹Troubleshoot Layer 1, 2 and 3 network issues
• ▹Monitor the network and respond to alerts, incidents and service requests
• ▹Implement approved network changes, upgrades, configurations and hardware replacements
• ▹Escalate complex issues to Level 3 engineering teams and coordinate with vendors and providers
• ▹Maintain network documentation, configuration records and procedures
• ▹Support incident, problem and change-management processes

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's degree and 2 to 5 years of related experience
• ▹Full understanding of routing, switching, server operating systems, firewalls, wireless controllers, DNS, email, virtual machines and software applications
• ▹Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
• ▹Understanding of server hardware relative to content delivery performance and capacity
• ▹Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships

Nice to have

• ▹Industry-recognized networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Arista ACE, or equivalent
• ▹Experience in data-centre, enterprise or 24x7 network operations environments
• ▹Exposure to network automation or scripting
