As a Cyber Defense Expert, you will have the opportunity to grow and deepen your expertise within a supportive, forward‑thinking organization. **Key Responsibilities** - **Operational Excellence:** You are responsible for ensuring operational excellence of cyber defense tooling in the areas of _detection & response_ and _vulnerability management_. - **Detection & Response Enablement:** Drive the effectiveness, reliability, and continuous improvement of detection and response technologies to support global Cyber Defense operations. - **Threat Hunting:** Design and execute _hypothesis‑based threat hunts_ to proactively identify malicious activity, uncover blind spots, and refine detection logic. - **Cyber Defense Integration:** Collaborate with Security Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure cyber defense capabilities are deeply embedded in daily workflows and processes. - **Continuous Improvement:** Work with global teams and partners to enhance the maturity, efficiency, and scalability of cyber defense practices. - **Knowledge Sharing:** Contribute to team development by sharing insights, lessons learned, and emerging threat trends. **Qualifications** - Strong understanding of detection & response methodologies and enterprise cyber defense concepts. - Hands-on experience in designing and implementing cyber defense capabilities (e.g., detection engineering, vulnerability management, threat hunting), with a total of 8 years of experience, including 3 years in Threat Hunting. - Ability to translate security signals, threats, and patterns into actionable improvements. - Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional and international environments. - Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to contribute to long-term capability development. - Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or related credentials are a plus but not mandatory. **Why Join Us** - Work in a supportive and innovative environment that encourages growth. - Engage with modern cyber defense capabilities and evolve them at a global scale. - Join a team that values your expertise and contributions. - Help shape the future of METRO’s global cyber defense strategy. **Additional Information** - **Work-life balance:** Flexible working hours in agreement with your line manager, 30 days of holidays. - **Training:** A comprehensive training offer via our own training center or externally. - **Well-being:** Health days with lots of health checks and information about your well-being, company medical care including a range of preventive services, such as flu shots, OTHEB employee assistance program. - **Exciting life on campus:** Free gym and sports classes, Rioba coffee bar, canteen with discounted meals for employees, many campus events. - **Discounts:** discounted Jobticket as well as discounts in our wholesale stores and at many partner companies. - **Comfort:** Good transport connections, free parking spaces, JobBike. - **Company pension plan:** You will receive a contribution to your company pension. - **Family driven:** Three daycare centers for children on campus, support of holiday camps for children of employees.
