Senior / Staff Product Engineer
Linear is looking for a Senior or Staff Product Engineer to help build the future of product development. The team is small and made up of generalists working across the full stack, built end-to-end in TypeScript, with React, MobX and styled-components on the frontend and Node, Postgres, Temporal and Redis in the backend. The role involves working closely with founders and design, building AI-powered functionality into the core of Linear and obsessively improving performance. Linear is remote-first, and the role is open to candidates based in the US and Europe.
Responsibilities
- ▹Work closely with founders and design to implement new concepts and ideas
- ▹Build AI-powered functionality into the core of Linear
- ▹Update the real-time collaborative content editor used across all internal surfaces
- ▹Build new user-facing features with beautiful and scalable UI components
- ▹Obsessively improve application performance
- ▹Refine software development processes to keep the team operating at high velocity
Requirements
- ▹5+ years of experience building customer-facing products at a high-quality software company
- ▹Strong React and TypeScript fundamentals, with experience across the full stack (browser technologies, Node, GraphQL, PostgreSQL)
- ▹Track record of driving complex, end-to-end features with visible product impact, not just incremental improvements
- ▹Product sensibility: caring about UX, speed and polish, and pushing back when something doesn't feel right
- ▹Comfortable working without heavy PM overhead, helping to shape the problem rather than just implementing solutions
- ▹High ownership mentality: self-directed, full-lifecycle builder taking features from idea to shipped
- ▹Thrives in a remote, async-first environment with a lean, high-output team
- ▹Experience at a startup or a company with a genuinely high engineering bar
