Responsibilities

• ▹Own technical direction across VAL's growth and operations engineering domain, keeping architecture aligned with product direction
• ▹Set the technical bar for the team, stepping into the hardest problems directly
• ▹Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions as installation branches are digitized further
• ▹Architect systems and APIs so AI agents operate as first-class users with machine-readable contracts
• ▹Drive VAL's shift to agentic engineering
• ▹Mentor engineers within VAL to accelerate their growth
• ▹Build a high-performing engineering culture within the VAL team
• ▹Embed security and reliability as direct customer value

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of hands-on software development experience across multiple general-purpose programming languages
• ▹Proven track record architecting scalable and secure systems
• ▹Extensive experience designing and implementing APIs for system integration, including APIs for AI agents/non-human consumers
• ▹Experience driving technical alignment and critical decisions in fast-paced environments
• ▹Track record leading a team through a major workflow or tooling shift, with judgment on where automation (including AI agents) can run safely and where human sign-off stays mandatory
