Responsibilities

• ▹Manage and optimise hybrid database landscapes, from DB2 LUW, zOS and Oracle to PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB
• ▹Lead or support cloud migrations to AWS, Azure or GCP (RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, Cloud SQL, managed PostgreSQL/DB2)
• ▹Automate with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), database CI/CD (Liquibase, Flyway), Change Data Capture and GitOps
• ▹Build observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace or OpenTelemetry
• ▹Contribute to high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies, including realistic DR tests and resilience tests based on the Chaos Monkey principle
• ▹Advise on data security and compliance in a heavily regulated sector (encryption, key management, audit trails, DORA, GDPR)
• ▹Hold an informed view on streaming data (Kafka, Debezium, CDC), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), data warehouses and data lakes

Requirements

• ▹Experience with hybrid database landscapes (relational and NoSQL)
• ▹Knowledge of cloud database services
• ▹Ability to explain technical deep dives and their business impact in plain language
