Canonical is hiring an Engineering Director to own the development and operations of internal business systems integrations, a full data mesh solution built on open-source software, and the configuration of Salesforce, NetSuite and other systems. The director leads the Business Data unit, made up of three engineering teams (Business Systems, Data Lake and Integrations) that collaborate across the company. The role is fully remote and based in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Lead multiple teams of engineers ranging from graduates to seniors
  • ▹Develop engineering managers to maintain Canonical culture in their teams
  • ▹Develop and evangelize great engineering practices and processes
  • ▹Oversee internal business systems integrations and a data mesh solution
  • ▹Drive the configuration and development of Salesforce, NetSuite and other systems
  • ▹Collaborate closely with other engineering and business teams

Requirements

  • ▹Track record of leading configuration, development and integrations of business systems such as Salesforce or NetSuite
  • ▹Experience with data engineering/governance solutions
  • ▹Adherence to high engineering quality standards
  • ▹Ability to lead and develop engineering managers and their teams
  • ▹Continuous development of own and direct reports' skills

Nice to have

  • ▹Familiarity with open-source tools such as Trino, Ranger and Superset
  • ▹Experience with Temporal workflow orchestration
  • ▹Experience with the Airbyte ETL solution
