DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop, maintain and optimize CI/CD processes (primarily GitLab CI) for machine learning systems in the cloud
• ▹Build tools and processes for monitoring, logging and analyzing the performance of AI solutions
• ▹Implement infrastructure in mixed-cloud environments (primarily GCP, plus AWS and/or Azure) using microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, Terragrunt and OpenTofu
• ▹Optimize and automate infrastructure scaling using the latest cloud technologies
• ▹Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement MLOps/DevOps requirements
• ▹Build and maintain test and production environments for deploying AI products on cloud platforms
• ▹Apply cloud-native design patterns, infrastructure best practices and networking concepts to ensure scalable, secure deployments

Requirements

• ▹Solid DevOps background: confident with core CI/CD concepts, Docker, serverless and basic networking
• ▹Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, primarily with GCP (AWS/Azure knowledge a plus)
• ▹Practical experience with Terraform and container technologies (Docker is a must, basic Kubernetes knowledge is sufficient given motivation to grow)
• ▹Confident in Python, SQL and scripting
• ▹Strong grasp of software engineering best practices (modularity, DRY principles, SDLC processes) and experience with observability stacks
• ▹Strong stakeholder management across clients and functions, able to document and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• ▹Fluent in German and English

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Terragrunt or OpenTofu
• ▹NoSQL knowledge
• ▹JavaScript or Go knowledge
• ▹Experience with MLOps, TensorFlow, PyTorch or CUDA/GPU/TPU applications
• ▹Experience with cloud migrations

• ▹Choice of hybrid work in Berlin or fully remote work anywhere in Germany, with regular travel to Berlin
