Cloud Engineer (AWS), Full time - Remote EU

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Enhance and maintain highly available, secure and scalable AWS cloud environments and services
• ▹Manage and prioritize the cloud infrastructure backlog to address immediate needs and plan long-term improvements
• ▹Set up infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions, proactively addressing availability, performance or security issues
• ▹Learn the current infrastructure and take ownership of day-to-day cloud operations
• ▹Assess new technologies, systems and services for production readiness
• ▹Prepare and maintain documentation on cloud processes, procedures and architectures
• ▹Apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles to evaluate and optimize infrastructure
• ▹Contribute to out-of-hours cloud deployments once or twice a month
• ▹Run proofs of concept on new AWS services and third-party tools

Requirements

• ▹Demonstrated entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• ▹University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• ▹3-5 years of hands-on professional experience with AWS cloud services
• ▹Proficiency with core AWS services (IAM, S3, KMS, RDS, VPC, ECS, EC2 and more)
• ▹Experience with multi-account, multi-region AWS production environments and managing them with IaC
• ▹Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform
• ▹Scripting experience with Python, Bash or Node.js
• ▹Good knowledge of cloud security principles and services (AWS WAF, GuardDuty, Config, CloudTrail)
• ▹Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, preferably GitLab
• ▹Experience with software version control and Git
• ▹Strong understanding of cloud networking (VPC, VPC Peering, Subnets, Load Balancing)
• ▹Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, ELK stack)
• ▹Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
• ▹Genuine interest in staying up to date with new AWS services
• ▹Ability to work well in a flexible startup environment, taking initiative
• ▹Excellent verbal and written English communication and listening skills
• ▹Familiarity with cloud architecture best practices
• ▹Ability to work independently and collaboratively
