Responsibilities

• ▹Provide data and visibility to teams and leadership on application performance
• ▹Guide the development of SLOs
• ▹Drive the incident management and analysis process
• ▹Steer the implementation of change management and deployment practices
• ▹Engage in service and architectural conversations
• ▹Recommend observability and alerting configurations
• ▹Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team
• ▹Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
• ▹Collaborate with infrastructure, product management and analytics on the product development lifecycle
• ▹Identify technical solutions and operational processes that strengthen incident readiness and response
• ▹Create and monitor metrics, escalate when needed and support on-call efforts
• ▹Set or improve code review and design standards
• ▹Help develop talent through feedback, guidance and leading by example

Requirements

• ▹4 or more years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Bash, Python or Kotlin
• ▹Track record developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes
• ▹4 or more years working in a Site Reliability or Production Engineering team
• ▹Experience contributing to or driving parts of the incident lifecycle process
• ▹Experience defining a technical plan for delivery of a significant feature or system component
