Responsibilities

• ▹Implement new scrapers and maintain existing ones
• ▹Improve the scraping platform in data quality, performance, and observability
• ▹Carry out research and technical investigations
• ▹Take ownership of architectural or conceptual platform components, e.g. reliability, QA processes, AI scrapers
• ▹Gain understanding of the codebase to reduce complexity and remove technical debt
• ▹Perform code reviews and participate in intra- and cross-team technical initiatives

Requirements

• ▹Engineer robust solutions using advanced Python and SQL for complex data and backend challenges
• ▹Experience working with data processing and distributed high-load systems
• ▹Experience with event-driven architecture and message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka)
• ▹Perform basic exploratory data analysis and make technical decisions based on observed data
• ▹Take proactive ownership of projects, setting a high bar for technical excellence
• ▹Thrive in fast-paced environments, pivoting quickly to meet changing priorities
• ▹Articulate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• ▹Deep-dive into the business domain to align technical output with product goals

Nice to have

• ▹Prior experience at a data product company or with Big Data
• ▹Experience collaborating with a BI, DA, and/or ML team
• ▹Build and maintain scalable web scraping architectures and backend systems

Soft skills

What we offer

• ▹$5,000 to $6,500 per month, based on experience
• ▹Typical hours Monday-Friday working UTC/UTC+1, with potential on-call support
