Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications and own delivery end-to-end
• ▹Architect changes to EdgeTier's core product including APIs, services, and databases
• ▹Write high quality, well-structured Python code and hold a high standard in code reviews
• ▹Direct and critically review AI coding agent output to ensure quality
• ▹Monitor application performance and error logs
• ▹Mentor junior engineers
• ▹Contribute to architectural decisions

Requirements

• ▹7+ years of professional software development experience in a product, SaaS, or similar environment
• ▹Solid Python skills
• ▹SQL experience, ideally PostgreSQL
• ▹Experience working with data at scale in large datasets or high-volume systems
• ▹True end-to-end engineering experience: local development, deployment, production debugging, ongoing maintenance
• ▹Strong communication skills to explain complex technical problems to non-technical stakeholders
• ▹Proven ability to work independently without close supervision
• ▹Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and agents

Nice to have

• ▹Flask, AWS, Pytest, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling, Terraform
• ▹Experience writing or customising AI agents
