Engineering Manager – Product & Platform Delivery

Responsibilities

• ▹Own feature delivery for a product area: lead a team shipping new functionality, delivering predictable, high-velocity outcomes
• ▹Plan and execute roadmaps: translate product strategy into technical plans, milestones, and success metrics
• ▹Technical leadership and architecture: drive pragmatic system design for product-layer services, ensuring scalability and consistency
• ▹Build and grow a strong team: hire, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering ownership, speed, and craft in a remote-first environment
• ▹Quality and reliability for product surfaces: improve automated testing, release safety, and observability
• ▹Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Program management, Support, GTM, and Infrastructure
• ▹Operational excellence: establish team rituals and delivery systems (sprints/kanban, retros, design reviews)
• ▹Customer-driven execution: incorporate feedback, analytics, and support signals into prioritization

Requirements

• ▹2+ years managing a team of high-performing software engineers, including roadmap delivery, hiring/firing, performance, and culture
• ▹6+ years as a software engineer building and shipping products used by millions of users, with clear personal impact
• ▹Systems-level technical depth: Linux internals and/or cloud systems engineering, ideally building platform capabilities (orchestration, control planes, distributed services)
• ▹Backend or full-stack proficiency: comfortable reviewing and contributing code in modern stacks; Go, Python, and/or TypeScript preferred
• ▹Solid understanding of distributed/cloud-native architecture: microservices, APIs, eventing, data stores, service-to-service communication
• ▹Delivery and metrics mindset: using cycle time, throughput, adoption, and escape defects to improve team flow
• ▹Proven remote-first leadership: clear communication, async stakeholder alignment, sustaining momentum across time zones
• ▹Successful completion of a background check

Nice to have

• ▹Experience building AI/ML and developer platforms, workflow-heavy products, or infrastructure-adjacent product layers
• ▹Familiarity with Kubernetes-based platforms, container runtimes, scheduling concepts, or GPU/accelerator workflows
• ▹Track record of scaling teams in high-growth environments while keeping quality high
• ▹Open-source contributions in cloud-native, systems, or ML-adjacent projects
