Software Engineer, Enterprise Platform

Software Engineer • Remote • Full-time United States USA

As a Cursor Enterprise Platform engineer, you'll design and build the platform layer that powers organization management, access control, compliance, and admin tooling for Cursor's largest enterprise customers — a deeply technical IC role focused on correct, secure, scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the organization management system — multi-level org structures, groups, roles, lifecycle, and SCIM provisioning
  • Design and implement RBAC with fine-grained roles, permissions, and resource scopes
  • Extend enterprise settings and policies — org-wide defaults, security policies, configuration inheritance
  • Deepen the audit logging infrastructure — comprehensive, queryable, tamper-evident audit trails
  • Build admin APIs and internal tooling relied on by enterprise admins, customer success, and sales engineering
  • Ship compliance features end-to-end — SSO enforcement, session management, allowlisting, data analytics
  • Partner with product, security, and infrastructure teams to define enterprise platform abstractions

Requirements

  • Experience building multi-tenant organization or IAM systems in production
  • Experience shipping RBAC or ABAC systems
  • Deep care about correctness in authorization and why "fail closed" matters
  • Ability to hold the tension between shipping enterprise features fast and not creating security gaps
  • Comfort shipping features end-to-end, from database schema and API design to admin UI and documentation

Technical authority and independent judgmentRigor and systems-level thinkingOpenness to close collaboration with product, security, and infra teams

About the company

Cursor's mission is to automate coding; a flat organization with small, talent-dense teams. This role does not own SSO/IdP integration at the protocol level (they use WorkOS) or billing and payments.
