Staff Software Engineer - Managed Kubernetes

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Driving technical vision for Lambda's Managed Kubernetes bare-metal platform, including control plane scalability, multi-tenancy, cluster lifecycle management, and high availability
• ▹Integrating and extending NVIDIA's open-source ecosystem: GPU Operator, Network Operator, DCGM, NCCL, AICR, and Topograph
• ▹Designing GPU-aware orchestration systems
• ▹Informing networking solutions for AI workloads: CNI integration, InfiniBand, RoCE, RDMA, and GPUDirect
• ▹Partnering with Storage teams on architecture requirements for AI workloads
• ▹Building the foundation for Managed Slurm on Kubernetes for HPC workloads
• ▹Designing higher-level platform services for inference, including model serving infrastructure and autoscaling
• ▹Designing self-healing systems and automation for incident response and root cause analysis
• ▹Leading chaos engineering efforts to validate system behavior under failure conditions
• ▹Establishing operational excellence: upgrade automation, security patching, zero-downtime maintenance

Requirements

• ▹Deep experience operating Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale
• ▹Knowledge of distributed systems, GPU-accelerated computing, and cloud-native infrastructure
• ▹Experience across networking, storage, and security infrastructure domains
• ▹Technical leadership experience, able to design holistic solutions across compute, network, storage, and security
