Senior Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Oversee the health, stability and scalability of the CI/CD infrastructure that supports product delivery
• ▹Monitor and respond to outages in those systems to maintain high availability, reliability and operational standards
• ▹Develop, scale and implement strategies, guidelines and governance for CI/CD systems while future-proofing their architecture for security, compliance and resilience
• ▹Optimize and balance CI/CD compute and storage usage for efficient resource use while keeping developer experience in mind
• ▹Investigate, diagnose and resolve technical issues related to CI/CD tooling with internal customers, working with other engineering teams

Requirements

• ▹Good grasp of CI systems and hands-on experience with GitLab or similar (such as Jenkins, Buildkite), with a strong focus on self-hosted operations
• ▹Some experience with cloud-native deployment and GitOps solutions such as GitLab, ArgoCD or similar (Flux, GoCD, Spinnaker, Harness), with a strong focus on self-hosted operations
• ▹Prior experience with at least one major cloud provider and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• ▹Comfortable running, monitoring and developing systems on Kubernetes and using tools like Helm; familiar with cloud-native container tools and building optimized images
• ▹Good problem-solving and investigative skills, with a creative approach using observability and debugging tools
• ▹Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively and maintain clear documentation, with a customer-empathy mindset towards product and application engineers

Nice to have

• ▹Previous experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• ▹Previous experience building and operating continuous integration with GitLab
• ▹Previous experience building and operating deployment platforms based on ArgoCD
