Senior Engineering Manager - Enablement

A leadership role over Honeycomb's Engineering Enablement team, owning developer feedback loops (CI/CD, testing, tooling) and AI-driven development initiatives (the Autobots platform).

Responsibilities

  • Own the developer feedback loops — CI/CD, testing, dependency management and tooling that let the org ship faster and more safely
  • Lead AI-partnered development, incubating the next chapter of AI-assisted engineering for humans and agents
  • Prove the ROI: define and track developer-productivity and satisfaction metrics
  • Lead change across the org, bringing engineers inside and outside the team along
  • Grow the team through 1:1s, career development and feedback loops as part of the manager community

Requirements

  • Sustained, multi-year experience leading an engineering enablement / developer-experience team
  • Fluency in CI/CD
  • A track record of defining and tracking developer-productivity / ROI metrics
  • Cross-org change leadership, ideally including a major workflow change or AI rollout
  • Real depth with AI tooling and the ability to articulate your own AI philosophy
  • Familiarity with observability / OpenTelemetry
  • Experience running internal platform or tooling as a 'product,' with internal engineers as customers

  • Still hands-on, enjoys contributing to and reviewing code
  • Has built own AI-driven projects and tools
