Senior Backend Engineer (Java)

Responsibilities

• ▹Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, frontend engineers, QA, designers)
• ▹Document, develop, refactor, deploy, and operate APIs, customer-facing components, and internal interfaces
• ▹Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Java
• ▹Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices
• ▹Collaborate with QA and Support teams to investigate issues and identify performance bottlenecks
• ▹Optimize and enhance existing code and backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability
• ▹Participate in and guide the technical design process
• ▹Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• ▹5+ years experience as a Backend Engineer
• ▹3+ years working as a Backend Engineer in a product-driven environment
• ▹Advanced English
• ▹Experience with coding AI agents like Cursor/Codex/Claude Code
• ▹Strong expertise in Java 21
• ▹Proficiency in Spring Boot 3/4 framework
• ▹Experience with JPA/Hibernate ORM
• ▹Hands-on experience with Java test frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Spring Integration Testing)
• ▹Experience debugging systems in production
• ▹Experience with algorithms and data structures
• ▹Familiarity with relational databases
• ▹System architecture and system design experience
• ▹Experience mentoring/coaching junior engineers
• ▹Leading complex projects from a technical perspective

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of different LLM models and AI integration approaches
• ▹Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)
• ▹Experience with Python Django/FastAPI
• ▹Kubernetes experience
• ▹Proficiency in designing, building, and running distributed systems
