Staff Software Engineer (Ruby or Go)

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Contribute to the architecture and design of distributed applications with strict performance and resilience requirements
• ▹Build, extend, troubleshoot and fix complex heterogeneous Golang/Ruby applications and standalone Go microservices
• ▹Write well-designed, testable, efficient code in Ruby and Golang
• ▹Integrate data storage solutions such as Postgres, S3, Redis, Kafka and ClickHouse
• ▹Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle
• ▹Provide code reviews for teammates
• ▹Provide technical leadership
• ▹Work with other teams on shared projects
• ▹Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems
• ▹Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions
• ▹Help maintain code quality, organization and automation

Requirements

• ▹7+ years of experience building scalable distributed backend applications
• ▹Excellent understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms
• ▹Strong understanding of all building blocks of large web applications (databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching, monitoring, etc.)
• ▹Excellent understanding of network protocols and stacks
• ▹Excellent understanding of database technologies
