Nuclear & Radiological Security Expert

Contract role defining evaluation standards, safety frameworks, and escalation protocols for nuclear and radiological security to help train next-generation AI systems, fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Define evaluation scope and standards for nuclear and radiological safety, nonproliferation, and security
  • Develop frameworks for safe abstraction of sensitive or classified information in technical contexts
  • Establish escalation thresholds and protocols for nuclear security risks in research and operational scenarios
  • Provide expert guidance on benchmarking nuclear and radiological risk assessments and nonproliferation safeguards
  • Review, refine, and validate technical guidelines for nuclear and radiological safety supporting advanced-model training
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to align safety standards with security interests and scientific progress
  • Document best practices and decision rationales for information security and compliance in nuclear domains

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in nuclear physics, radiological safety, nonproliferation, or nuclear safeguards, ideally 8-20 years for senior contributors
  • Advanced degree, professional certification, or equivalent operational experience in nuclear or radiological domains
  • Background with government agencies, national laboratories, regulatory bodies, or academic research in nuclear security or policy
  • Thorough understanding of nonproliferation frameworks, international safeguards, and weapons-relevant controls
  • High credibility and recognition in nuclear or radiological safety communities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences
  • Experience contributing to or overseeing security evaluations, compliance protocols, or risk assessments in sensitive technical environments
