Backend Engineer Core Team (GoLang + PHP)

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop new backend functionality primarily using Go, with partial work on the PHP codebase (~80/20 split)
• ▹Migrate business logic from legacy PHP monoliths to Go services
• ▹Ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of systems in the production environment
• ▹Participate in improving infrastructure processes: CI/CD, observability, operational excellence
• ▹Collaborate closely with the product team and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions in the domain
• ▹Conduct code reviews focused on best practices, code quality, and maintainability

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of backend development experience
• ▹Commercial experience with Golang
• ▹Experience with PHP (Symfony or Laravel preferred)
• ▹Understanding of idiomatic Go patterns, best practices, and approaches to structuring Go applications
• ▹Experience with relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL)
• ▹Experience with asynchronous messaging (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, Amazon SQS, or similar)
• ▹Experience with caching and in-memory stores (Redis / AWS ElastiCache)
• ▹Infrastructure exposure: Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and/or production troubleshooting experience
• ▹Experience with Linux and Docker
• ▹Ability to write and maintain unit tests, ensuring code quality and reliability
• ▹Problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex systems or domains

Nice to have

• ▹Experience migrating from a PHP monolith to Go services
• ▹Strong experience with PHP 8+ (Symfony or Laravel)
• ▹Experience with distributed systems and high-load services
• ▹Experience with cloud and container orchestration tools: AWS services, Kubernetes, Helm, service mesh technologies (Istio or similar)
• ▹Practical experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs
• ▹Knowledge of architectural design principles: Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, DDD
• ▹Strong communication and teamwork skills
