Senior Developer-Analyst (Java)

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop features within a multidisciplinary team (business analysts, UX designers, graphic designers, integrators, QA, data administrators)
• ▹Structure the codebase around SOLID principles and architectural guidelines
• ▹Develop a web application connected to a relational database
• ▹Implement complex features using JMS queues, microservices and asynchronous tasks
• ▹Identify concurrency issues and bugs during code reviews
• ▹Assess the quality of deliverables from other developers
• ▹Propose an optimized physical model for a relational database
• ▹Analyze SQL query performance and propose improvements
• ▹Manage and ensure the quality of the release process
• ▹Write functional documentation and meeting minutes
• ▹Lead workshops and team meetings of at least 5 people

Requirements

• ▹Canadian citizenship or a valid work permit
• ▹French language proficiency (spoken and written)
• ▹At least 5 years of experience as both a Java backend developer and a functional analyst
• ▹Solid understanding of SOLID principles
• ▹Full command of the Java language, including concurrent programming
• ▹Experience applying OO design patterns
• ▹Experience using Java 8 lambdas
• ▹Experience with JMS queues, microservices and asynchronous tasks
• ▹Full experience using a version control system
• ▹Experience with wireframing software (e.g. Axure RP)
• ▹Knowledge of responsive web concepts, usability and accessibility

Nice to have

• ▹Familiarity with indexing/search tools such as Elasticsearch
• ▹Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka
