Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop and maintain clean, efficient and well-tested code focused on reliability and performance
• ▹Own features and small projects through the development lifecycle under the guidance of senior engineers
• ▹Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations) to understand requirements
• ▹Contribute to building tools and integrating systems to enhance operational efficiency
• ▹Participate in code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback
• ▹Learn and apply new technologies and best practices with support from senior team members
• ▹Assist in troubleshooting issues related to systems
• ▹Contribute to team process improvements, focusing on code quality and testing
• ▹Document work and technical decisions clearly

Requirements

• ▹2+ years of professional software development experience with a good understanding of backend systems and design principles
• ▹Proficiency in at least one of Java or Kotlin
• ▹Familiarity with OOP principles, data structures and algorithms
• ▹Experience with databases (relational and/or non-relational)
• ▹Understanding of version control (Git)
• ▹Strong problem-solving skills and desire to learn and grow
• ▹Good communication and collaboration skills
• ▹Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• ▹Fluent in English

Nice to have

• ▹Degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
