Software Engineer I, Backend (Collections)

Responsibilities

• ▹Contribute to tasks that support the Collections team's projects and goals building backend systems
• ▹Take part in an on-call rotation
• ▹Work collaboratively and proactively with the team and stakeholders, creating visibility around risks and trade-offs
• ▹Balance speed and quality to hit business goals while protecting systems from downtime
• ▹Contribute to team community through growth and development activities

Requirements

• ▹Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale
• ▹Experience with Python or Kotlin
• ▹Familiarity with distributed systems building blocks and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• ▹Ability to turn a simple problem or business scenario into a solution across multiple software components, writing clear, well-tested, extensible code
• ▹Comfortable navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and giving feedback in code reviews
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with a global engineering team
