Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• ▹Translate functional requirements into an elegant, simple design and deliver the code
• ▹Understand the product and customer needs in detail and suggest innovative ideas
• ▹Coach up to 6 direct reports (usually every 2 weeks)
• ▹Define expectations, collect and deliver feedback
• ▹Build career development plans using the skill leveling matrix
• ▹Participate in performance-related decisions (e.g. proposing and calibrating salary raises), including under-performance remediation
• ▹Optionally lead ad hoc projects with other managers (e.g. organizing technical demos, running All Hands, evolving the skill leveling matrix)

Requirements

• ▹Experience as a software engineer working on a product in production (for managers, evaluated at a senior level, usually 7-8 years)
• ▹At least 2-3 years of people management experience
• ▹Proven experience designing object-oriented software (C#, Java, C++, Golang, Rust, Python or Ruby)
• ▹Great team spirit with a problem-solving attitude
• ▹Humility and willingness to grow
• ▹Fluent English (French is not a must)
