Responsibilities

• ▹Operate the production system: deploys, rollbacks, capacity, incident response
• ▹Design and execute the scaling roadmap: horizontal scaling, load balancing, caching layers, object-storage offload, database replication, IPFS-node fan-out
• ▹Evaluate and integrate cloud building blocks (managed databases, object storage, CDN, load balancers) where they earn their cost
• ▹Stand up CI/CD pipelines from scratch (likely GitHub Actions) covering test, build, image push and deploy across all services
• ▹Establish observability: metrics, logs, error tracking, SLOs and meaningful alerts
• ▹Manage TLS / ACME automation, DNS and secrets handling, replacing hardcoded credentials with a proper secret-management approach
• ▹Introduce infrastructure as code (Terraform or comparable) so the production system is reproducible
• ▹Use AI coding assistants to author IaC modules, runbooks and incident-response playbooks

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of professional Linux sysadmin / DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering experience
• ▹Docker fluency: writing, debugging and optimizing Dockerfiles and multi-service compose stacks
• ▹Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, HTTP semantics, reverse proxies, load balancers
• ▹Scripting: Bash plus at least one of Python (or similar like Go/Ruby)
• ▹Hands-on CI/CD pipeline design with any modern system
• ▹Production operations experience: on-call, postmortems, capacity planning
• ▹Familiarity with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure), including its load-balancing, object-storage and managed-database primitives
• ▹Git fluency
• ▹Experience using AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows in real ops work
• ▹Strong written English: runbooks, RFCs and postmortems are core deliverables

Nice to have

• ▹Kubernetes operational experience (CKA welcome but not required)
• ▹Terraform or Ansible at intermediate-or-deeper depth
• ▹Multi-cloud literacy: shipped on more than one of AWS, GCP, Azure
• ▹Observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Sentry
• ▹Database operations beyond CRUD: replication, point-in-time recovery, query tuning
• ▹IPFS or other content-addressable / peer-to-peer storage operational experience
• ▹Security hardening: OWASP, basic pen-testing literacy, secrets-management tooling (Vault, SOPS, AWS SM)
• ▹Cost engineering: has right-sized a cloud bill before
• ▹Cloud or Kubernetes certifications
