Canonical is looking for a technical leader for the Ubuntu Desktop Apps team, which builds the Desktop Installer, App Center, Security Center and other key applications using Flutter, Dart, Go and Rust. The role combines people management with active engineering involvement.
Responsibilities
- ▹Guide architecture and technical direction for Ubuntu desktop applications
- ▹Lead and mentor a team of engineers
- ▹Plan and deliver features across multiple release cycles
- ▹Improve CI/CD pipelines and test coverage
- ▹Collaborate with design and product teams
- ▹Engage with the Ubuntu open source community
Requirements
- ▹Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
- ▹Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM
- ▹Experience with Flutter/Dart, Go or Rust development
- ▹Team leadership experience
