Lead Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Leading multiple engineers within a team or workstream and guiding their work to deliver user and business value
• ▹Designing, building and owning Python microservices - secure, observable, and built for scale
• ▹Driving architectural discussions and decisions across multiple teams
• ▹Championing engineering excellence: testability, reliability, scalability, and clean code
• ▹Collaborating with engineers, product managers, designers and data analysts to deliver value fast
• ▹Leading and coordinating the delivery of large, complex technical initiatives
• ▹Actively coaching and mentoring engineers
• ▹Identifying problems, investigating root causes, and implementing pragmatic solutions with autonomy
• ▹Continuously improving how the team works, from CI/CD pipelines to incident response
• ▹Staying curious about how AI can enhance the work and unlock better productivity

Requirements

• ▹Strong backend engineering experience building cloud-native microservices (Python preferred, but open to strong experience in other languages)
