Bazel Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop solutions around build tools
• ▹Maintain CI/CD and other aspects of the SDLC
• ▹Interact with developers, mentor and teach others

Requirements

• ▹Bazel: expert (Bazel Engineer role)
• ▹Python / Starlark: advanced
• ▹Gradle / Maven / CMake (any build tool other than Bazel): advanced
• ▹English: advanced
• ▹Good knowledge of at least one ecosystem, preferably C++ (JVM, .Net, Rust, Go, NPM etc.)
• ▹Communication skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• ▹Teamwork, proactivity and self-management
• ▹For the Senior Build System Engineer level: 5+ years of experience in backend, DevOps or platform engineering, Python advanced, CI/CD regular

Nice to have

• ▹Other ecosystems (JVM / .Net / Rust / Go / NPM)
• ▹IDE internals and plugins (VS Code, IntelliJ, CLion and other JetBrains IDEs)
• ▹Public speaking, writing blog posts and interacting with developers
• ▹Strong multitasking skills
• ▹Willingness to mentor and teach others
