Senior Azure Platform / DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Stand up new platforms from scratch: network, compute, data, and the deployment pipeline
• ▹Make and own architecture decisions, including whether a Terraform change is a safe in-place update or a destroy-and-replace
• ▹Run high-risk migrations: move live platforms onto a new foundation, read the plan correctly, write the runbook, prepare rollback
• ▹Keep platforms healthy over time: provider upgrades, drift, security, shared foundation maintenance
• ▹Work directly with clients' own DevOps engineers in an advisory role

Requirements

• ▹Hands-on experience building and running production Azure yourself, not just using modules written by others
• ▹Azure networking: VNets/subnets, private endpoints and DNS zones, NSGs/UDRs, NAT, Application Gateway and WAF, load balancers, hub-and-spoke / Virtual WAN
• ▹Terraform on Azure: workspaces, migrations, imports, remote backends, disciplined lifecycle management
• ▹Delivery path knowledge: Azure Container Registry, VM Scale Sets and cloud-init, CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub
• ▹Azure data services: Postgres Flexible Server, managed Redis, Blob storage, and their sizing/failover/cutover risks
• ▹Entra ID and RBAC: app registrations, service principals, scoped role assignments across subscriptions
• ▹Clear writing and a level head on live calls

Nice to have

• ▹Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305)
• ▹Temporal or similar workflow runtimes, Bash/Python scripting
• ▹Past consulting or client-embedded work
