Responsibilities

• ▹Propose, negotiate, plan, lead, and report tests at customer power plants to support evolving regulatory standards for steady-state performance, dynamic performance, and modeling
• ▹Communicate effectively with clients to support testing and compliance needs and resolve issues promptly
• ▹Support GE projects with power systems engineering expertise, including design and equipment specification studies and commissioning support
• ▹Support continuous development of generation products based on evolving codes and standards
• ▹Contribute to the development of new tools and improvement of existing tools used by the team
• ▹Actively identify and cultivate new customers and business opportunities, prepare proposals, project creation/assignment, billing, and closing

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering from an accredited college or university
• ▹Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering and/or Product Management in the Power Generation industry, or MS with 3 years of experience
• ▹Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time domestically and internationally

Nice to have

• ▹Advanced Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electric Power Engineering
• ▹Field experience with thermal power generation turbine and excitation control systems
• ▹Knowledge in electrical or electric power engineering, conventional and renewable power plant design/operation
• ▹Load flow, dynamic, short circuit, and protection modelling and analysis
• ▹Proficiency with PSLF, PSS/e, PSCAD, and MATLAB dynamic/transient simulation and other analytical tools
• ▹Demonstrated capability to complete projects on-time and on-budget as an individual contributor or project manager
• ▹Ability to perform engineering analysis and design, develop engineering solutions in a team environment, and provide technical consulting to customers
• ▹Proficiency with office productivity software (MS Office, Visio, MS Project)
• ▹Excellent interpersonal communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers and plant staff
• ▹Six Sigma training
