Algorithms Engineer – EISCAT_3D Radar

EISCAT AB is looking for an algorithms engineer to develop mathematically oriented software for EISCAT_3D, the world's most advanced scientific radar, focusing on implementing algorithms for the data processing pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Implement mathematical algorithms for the data processing pipeline
  • Integrate new methods developed with IRF for measuring orbital parameters of hard targets, including compensation for atmospheric wave propagation, into the current analysis package
  • Work on the new data analysis pipeline
  • Contribute to development of other parts of the system software

Requirements

  • Documented experience in mathematics and signal processing
  • Documented experience programming in two or more of C, Go, Python, and Rust
  • Experience implementing algorithms
  • EU work permit
  • Category B driving license
  • Proficient English language skills, spoken and written

Nice to have

  • Understanding of radar technology or amateur radio experience
  • Experience with Matlab for working with EISCAT's legacy code
  • Proficiency working in a Linux environment

Long-term view and interest in radar or radio technology, given the project's multi-decade lifespanGood communication skills for working with a team spread across multiple locations and time zonesComfortable taking initiative
