Senior Backend Engineer

Backend Developer • Senior • On-site • Full-time Sweden Stockholm, Sweden

LeoVegas Group's Tiger Sportsbook team is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale high-volume, real-time betting and trading systems.

Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership, solving problems, and collaborating with other teams
  • Designing and implementing solutions from idea to production
  • Building for scale, availability, performance, and security across the stack
  • Working with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and other developers in a highly collaborative agile environment
  • Integrating new products and building internal services to support the ecosystem
  • Conducting code reviews and mentoring team members
  • Ensuring services are production-ready, observable, and maintainable through monitoring, alerting, and on-call participation

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Event-Driven Architectures
  • Experience designing microservices, Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and Kafka messaging systems
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching
  • Experience implementing resilience patterns (retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation)
  • Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (metrics, logs, traces) and alerts
  • Hands-on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end microservices

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. RxJava) and Vert.x
  • Experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
  • Online gaming and gambling industry experience
